Incorporating Problem Solving Into Your App, image #3

Last year, we wrote a blog about how we were named as one of the top app developers in Ukraine by Clutch. This year we just got word that we are now also ranked in the top three 3d printing companies on the 2021 directory of the Manifest.

This is partly thanks to two new five-star Clutch reviews that came in earlier this year:

From Colin Stuart, CEO BakerStuart Limited

From Product Owner, Software Company

One thing that both reviews highlighted regarding our process is our team’s ability to problem-solve whenever issues come up during development. We’d like to talk about that today and highlight the problem-solving aspect of app development.

Understanding What Happened

Before any solution can even be proposed, everyone needs to be on the same page as to what went wrong. This can be the most difficult part of the process because team’s will be working with minimal data for most of the time. And anyone knows is that the part isn’t doing what it’s supposed to be doing. Similar to the discovery phase at the start of the project.

Each project is unique therefore a fix for one won’t necessarily work for another. But a general technique is listing down the most probable causes for the failure and going through them one by one. The difficulty of this technique relies on the level of involvement that team’s had on the project so far.

If they’re the ones that wrote the code from scratch it shouldn’t be too hard to do. If they’re inheriting code from someone else, that complicates things a bit.

Experience matters

The understanding phase can get much easier as the team becomes more experienced. Chances are that the more common errors will have been anticipated and already have a solution before they spring up.

This is our biggest advantage as a team. Our experience, as shown by the number of awards we’ve earned, has allowed us the ability to forecast all of the possible obstacles any project may face and prepare accordingly.

We attribute this to our more than 70 successful projects in around four years of business. There are a select few things in the industry we’ve yet to see personally, but already have contingencies for if we ever do.

Adapt to each situation

What makes us different from the rest of the industry is that we don’t stop the process with the solution. Like we said earlier, every project is unique and even solutions need to adapt to that uniqueness.

This is what makes our recommendations more effective for our clients, because it will only be that effective for them. There are no band-aid solution in app development, and the sooner more teams realize this, the better their processes will become.
